We have successfully completed their first week of the programme! We would like to thank UNDP Accelerator Labs, Generations for Peace, Palestine Sports for Life, Generation Amazing, IFCP, Special Olympics, Indian Blind Football Association and Coaches Across Continents for delivering incredible workshops enlightening our youth on important subjects such as sports and the SDGs, Philanthropy, Inclusivity and Safeguarding.
Today marks the launch of the e-Goal programme in the West Zone of the AFC region. 23 young players, aged 16 to 17 and representing 12 countries in the Middle East, were nominated by their football associations to participate in our special virtual programme. We were honoured to have AFC’s president Sheikh Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa welcoming our participants and other stakeholders and wishing everyone the best of luck in this important endeavour. Thank you and here goes!
We are proud to announce that we have partnered with The Asian Football Confederation to offer a pioneering virtual social responsibility programme in the field of sport for development and peace. The e-Goal programme is the first-of-its-kind in world football and engages young elite players in social development efforts post COVID-19.
As the pandemic continues to keep our field operations on hold, we continue to try to find solutions for the social challenges it presents. As a result, Aurora has taken the best of its programmes’ social components and designed a special virtual experience for our youth community. Watch this space for some exciting news!
Since 2017, we have been on quite a journey! Now, with our offices and fields closed, we find ourselves with a rare opportunity to look inwards. Now, we have the time to really reflect and reassess our priorities. It is truly testing, but we believe that every cloud has a silver lining. Its time to make sure our values and commitments are at the forefront of our actions. For a better tomorrow.
