Upon registering for SCALE, participating schools are bound to the following terms and conditions and must ensure that they fully understand them before completing the online School Registration Form.

By submitting the School Registration Form, the School communicates their acceptance of these terms and conditions.

1. Definitions, References and Interpretations

The following words and phrases shall bear the following meanings:

1.1. “SCALE”/ “the Programme” refers to the sport for development programme which will take place in Amman from 22 October 2022.

1.2. “the Participating School” / “the School” refers to the school interested in SCALE and wishes to promote it to its students.

1.3. “Aurora” refers to Aurora for Training and Development LLC, the organisation in charge of and responsible for the design and implementation of SCALE.

1.4. “the Student/s or Participant/s” refers to those taking part in the programme registered through the Participating School.

1.5. Clause headings shall not affect the interpretation of these terms and conditions.

1.6. Unless the context otherwise requires, words in the singular shall include the plural and, in the plural, shall include the singular.

1.7. Unless the context otherwise requires, a reference to one gender shall include a reference to the other genders.

1.8. Certain laws require that some information we give you should be in writing. A reference to writing or written communication includes fax and e-mail. You accept that most communication with us will be electronic. We will contact you by e-mail or provide you with information by posting notices on our website. You agree to this electronic means of communication and acknowledge that notices, information and other communications we provide electronically comply with legal requirements that such communications be in writing.

1.9. Any obligation on a party not to do something includes an obligation not to allow that thing to be done.

2. Variations

With reference to SCALE, no variation of these terms and conditions shall apply unless agreed, in writing, between Aurora and the Participating School.

3. About Aurora

Aurora is a not-for-profit youth development organisation incorporated in November 2017 in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan (Registration number 1050) with its offices at 222 Armada Tower, 183 Arar Street, Amman 11194, Jordan.

4. About SCALE

SCALE is a sport for development programme designed for school students who are passionate about sport. The Programme is delivered by Aurora in collaboration with a network of education partners working in the fields of sport for development, social development and/or youth development.

5. Student Participation

Aurora reserves the right to refuse participation of students who do not meet programme criteria, namely;

5.1 Enrolled in a participating international school in Amman

5.2 Currently in Grades 10-12 (minimum age 16)

5.3 Actively engaged in/passionate about sport

5.4 Strong English language ability

6. Roles and Responsibilities

This clause outlines the main roles and responsibilities of both Aurora and the Participating School.

6.1. Aurora’s Responsibilities

6.1.1. Aurora shall assist the Participating School with promoting the Programme to its administration, relevant faculty members and students.

6.1.2. Aurora shall deliver the Programme and ensure that the Participating School receives the required information in order to support its communication with Participants and their parents/legal guardians.

6.1.3. Aurora shall offer on-going support to the School and its Participants to ensure successful and meaningful engagement.

6.1.4. Aurora shall endeavour to support the School with any school, student or parent issues arising throughout the programme and do so through an open, prompt and transparent line of communication.

6.1.5. Aurora shall operate with strictest diligence with regards to safeguarding students during their experience with Aurora and ensure that no personal information of the School, its students or any other party or entity pertaining to the School’s participation is shared with any third party, in accordance with Data and Child Protection Policies.

6.1.6. Aurora shall provide the School with a progress report for participating students as well as a monitoring and evaluation snapshot of the Programme upon its completion.

6.2. Participating School’s Responsibilities

6.2.1. The Participating School shall appoint a focal point from each of the CAS and Sport departments who will act as Aurora’s School contacts for the duration of the Programme. The School’s focal points will be required to participate in SCALE’s Asso Programme and contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of the Programme by providing feedback on the School’s experience.

6.2.2. The Participating School shall facilitate student recruitment opportunities for Aurora through marketing opportunities as convenient for the school and its focal points and support Aurora in promoting the programme to prospective participants.

6.2.3. The Participating School shall be responsible for collecting Programme fees from Participants and ensure payments are made in full and in due time.

6.2.4. The Participating School shall, wherever possible, support Aurora in ensuring student’s complete and appropriate participation in the Programme and adherence to its Code of Conduct.

6.2.5. The School understands that Aurora reserves the right to terminate a student’s participation and/or not to issue a certificate of completion should it find student’s participation unsatisfactory. Such reasons will be communicated in writing to the School in advance of such decisions.

7. Programme Fees

7.1. All fees and other charges for the Programme are quoted in Jordanian Dinar (JOD).

7.2. Students wishing to register for SCALE will incur the following costs:

7.2.1. 25 JOD Non-Refundable Registration Fee

7.2.2. 140 JOD Programme Fee

7.3. Prices are subject to change and reasonable notice will be given of any such change. Aurora reserves the right to make changes to Programme fees to take account of error, omissions, or other factors beyond Aurora’s reasonable control.

8. Payments

8.1. Any payment made by the Participating School (or on the School’s behalf) to Aurora shall be made by:

8.1.2. Cheques made payable to:

8.2. Under no circumstances will Aurora accept payment in cash for any programme fees, in part of in full.

8.3. The School is responsible for covering any applicable bank charges when making payments to Aurora, ensuring that the amount invoiced is received in full.

8.4. Full payment for the Programme shall be made by the School to Aurora no later than seven (7) days before the start date of the Programme (Saturday, 22 October 2022).

8.5. If any amount remains unpaid beyond payment deadline, the School understands additional charges might be incurred for late bookings (charges will be incurred per student making late registration/payment);

8.5.1. 04-06 days prior to start date 25 JOD

8.5.2. 01-03 days prior to start date 50 JOD

8.6. If any amount remains unpaid beyond the Programme start date, 22 October 2022, the School understands that Aurora cannot guarantee student places despite any previous verbal or written communication.

9. Cancellations, Terminations and Postponements

9.1. Cancellation by Aurora before the start date

9.1.1. Aurora reserves the right to cancel the Programme owing to insufficient demand or where other factors beyond Aurora’s reasonable control necessitate it. If such cancellation does not fall within the circumstances provided for in Clauses 10 and 11, Aurora shall refund any Programme fees paid in full.

9.2. Cancellation Period for cancellation by the School

9.2.1. The School and/or its Participants have the right to cancel their booking, without giving any reason, within 10 days of registration subject to the cancellation being at least 7 days prior to the Programme start date, 22 October 2022.

9.2.2. To exercise the right to cancel, the School shall inform Aurora of their decision to cancel their booking by a clear written statement sent by email to (

9.2.3. To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for the School to send their communication concerning their cancellation before the Cancellation Period has expired.

9.2.4. If the School cancels their booking within the cancellation period, Aurora shall reimburse to the School all payments received from them. The reimbursement shall be made without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which Aurora receives the School’s decision to cancel their booking. Participants will not incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement less non-refundable registration fees.

9.3. Cancellations, Terminations and Refunds outside the cancellation period

This clause shall apply to any cancellation by the School not within clause 9.2.1 and shall be without prejudice to that clause.

9.3.1. Cancellations before start date

All refunds shall be net of any foreign exchange losses and net of any banking or transfer charges and of any similar expenses incurred by Aurora.

9.3.2. Cancellations or terminations by Aurora on or after start date

Where a cancellation or termination by Aurora for Training and Development occurs on or after the start date for any reason, the School shall receive reimbursement of fees paid less an amount which is in proportion to the services which have been performed up to the point at which the cancellation or termination occurs.

9.3.3. Cancellations or terminations by the School on or after start date

Where cancellation or termination by the School occurs on or after the start date for any reason by the School, the School shall receive no refund of any Programme fees already paid or incurred.

9.3.4. Cancellation due to medical or other mitigating reasons

In the event of the Student becoming ill or suffering a personal sufferance before or during the Programme and being unable to attend the Programme or any part of it in consequence thereof, the School is requested to immediately inform Aurora and understands it might be requested to provide a medical excuse letter in order to process any requested refunds.

9.4. Postponement

The Student may not postpone their registration or carry forward their fees paid to a subsequent Programme at a later date.

9.5. Transfer of place and re-application of monies paid

The School may not transfer a student’s place on the Programme to another student or request that any monies paid be applied in discharge (whether in part or full) of fees or other sums owed by another student.

9.6. Termination

9.6.1. Aurora shall be entitled to terminate the School’s registration by written notice to the School if: payment of 100% of Programme Fees owing to Aurora has not been made by at least three (3) days before the start date of the Programme; or required information has not been provided by the Participants, including but not limited to Personal Information and Parent Consent forms.

9.6.2. Subject as otherwise provided herein and to any rights or obligations which have accrued prior to termination neither party shall have further obligations to the other under these terms and conditions following termination.

10. Force majeure

Aurora shall not be deemed to be in breach of these terms and conditions or otherwise be liable to the School for non-performance or part-performance arising out of circumstances beyond its control including but not limited to occurrences or threatened or suspected occurrences of activities of suspected terrorists, human or animal disease, fire or flood, withdrawal or non-availability of services by any third party, or direction of any competent local or national authority or fear of any such.

11. Partnership, Agency, or Employment

Nothing in these terms and conditions shall create, or be deemed to create, a partnership or the relationship of principal and agent or employer and employee between Aurora and the School or any other person.

12. Communication of these terms and conditions

Aurora shall ensure that these terms and conditions are presented every day online (save during reasonable downtime for website maintenance) on our website at as a link which may be viewed and printed off as well as a hyperlink as a part of the online registration process with the website coding written such that registration is not possible without a tick-box being checked by the School thereby signalling agreement.
