The pandemic has been a true time of reflection. As part of its COVID-19 response efforts, Aurora designed a virtual social responsibility programme to continue to offer meaningful exchanges during these difficult and uncertain times. The eGoal programme is based on Aurora’s Model for Youth Development and aims to educate young players on the social and moral foundations of sports, equip them with the necessary skills to lead social change, and offer them a platform through which they can advocate for ethical and responsible football.

The first-of-its-kind programme in world football brings together guest speakers from reputable social development organisations to deliver workshops on important topics such as Sport for Development and Peace, Sustainable Development Goals, Philanthropy in Football, Diversity and Inclusion, Safeguarding and Child Protection, Civic Engagement and Ethical Volunteering.

In June 2020, in partnership with The Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) Dream Asia Foundation, 20 participating youth representing 12 Member Associations in the AFC West Zone were awarded the first AFC Youth Social Responsibility Ambassador Certificate. Since then, they have each been working on designing initiatives to champion social responsibility in their respective communities.

Now, based on the success of the pilot programme in the Middle East, the AFC is expanding the acclaimed eGoal programme to the remaining zones in its region; East, ASEAN, South and Central. Join us in our shared commitment to continue to ‘Enlighten, Empower and Engage’ youth to ‘Make A Difference’.
